RSS = Really Simple Syndication

How do I use this RSS thing?

It's easier than you would think.

All you need is a browser that supports RSS. We highly recommend what is perhaps the best browser in the world - Firefox

- Firefox Safari iPhone Camino Shiira -

Firefox - for Mac, PC, and Linux

We love Firefox. This browser is fantastic. It supports tabbed browsing, RSS feeds, advanced bookmark organisation, and support for all the latest technologies such as javascript.

Due to the open source development of Firefox, work never stops on improving it. Best of all - it's free. 100% FREE!

Safari - for both Mac and PC

Released into beta for its third version for Mac and now Windows, and the power behind the browser of iPhone, Safari is rapidly becoming a popular browser.

Safari features some of the fastest load times and excellent support for new technologies such as javascript. The RSS reader is fast and super simple to use.

Camino and Shiira - only for Mac heads

Camino and Shiira are two more fantastic browsers with good RSS support. Lovingly made by and for the Mac community.

The Others

- Newsfire News Ticker Straw Netnewswire Newslife -

The above are some dedicated RSS readers.

These applications don't allow you to browse the internet like a browser as they are dedicated to making reading RSS feeds nice and easy and fast.

Online RSS Readers

You can also read your RSS feeds in a variety of online applications. This works just like it would with any of the above applications, but instead of opening the application on your computer's hard drive, you navigate to the application in your browser.

The cool thing about online RSS readers is that once you've added your feeds you can access them from anywhere in the world (as long as you've got an internet connection obviously).

Here's a few examples of online RSS readers:

Google Reader

Newsgator Online

Bloglines
