End of the Road for The Pirate Bay Founders
James Gill / April 17, 2009

It’s a sad day for what are arguably some of the most influential people in the peer-to-peer file sharing industry. The BBC reported on the story with this:
Frederik Neij, Gottfrid Svartholm Warg, Carl Lundstrom and Peter Sunde were found guilty of breaking copyright law and were sentenced to a year in jail. They were also ordered to pay $4.5m (~£3m) in damages.
Despite the bad news, it’s the sign of a true hero to give a response like this (Peter Sunde):
“It’s so bizarre that we were convicted at all and it’s even more bizarre that we were [convicted] as a team. The court said we were organised. I can’t get Gottfrid out of bed in the morning. If you’re going to convict us, convict us of disorganised crime.
We can’t pay and we wouldn’t pay. Even if I had the money I would rather burn everything I owned, and I wouldn’t even give them the ashes.”
Legends of our times. Not that we endorse what they are responsible for.
We wish them the best of the luck in the future, once they’re out.

So glad we got all the crack and heroin off the streets and got all the child predators offline so we have time to go after people for 'sharing bootlegs'. Oh we skipped the drug dealers and rapist and went for the p2p guys, I guess that is safer as even the cops are afraid of the gang bangers in my neighborhood.
First time rapist would get in less trouble than these non violent guys.
Prosecutor should feel real proud as he drinks his scotch smoking his cigar tonight....

Wait, you honestly think this is over? There's the appeals. And that's if they don't get a retrial based on the recent uncovering of the judge's possible bias.
That, and TBP will never go down. Not for a long time, at least.
Ah well.

That´s the most pathetic think of the so called "justice" to do. As Arthur said, now they go after the p2p guys that are non violent and nothing. They do to world a favor, and I bet that even the judges, procurers or what ever they are are using P2P system to get movies, games or who knows what!
TPB will go up again, as the last time!

Well, Now I guess we have to sue Microsoft for making the Operating System that is used to surf to Piratebay, with the intention that we might do something illegal. Or Apple, or Google, and the list could go on and on. Pirate bay for what I have understood is a links/torrent search engine, which in itself can't be illegal, unless you use it for something so. Maybe we just need to turn the key on the ground principal of what the web is used for or just shut it down now.......Bye bye HAL
