This Beijing Olympic Village replica was created by the Hong Kong LEGO Users Group in under 100 hours. These photos are a few days old but I only just came across them. Seems like an appropriate time to display an amazing model of such a breathtaking Olympic Village.

Anyone who saw the opening ceremony to Beijing 08 will be aware of how much attention China is putting into the beautiful details of these Games. The Birds Nest Stadium is one of my favourite stadium designs ever, and at night it becomes even more stunning with the most powerful and colourful lighting to transform it into a glowing ball of intertwining steel frames.

Now it's not often one can get excited about a desk. But this one is an exception. MILK is a fantastic all in one design that is actually in production, by designer Soren Kjaer.

He says most of the facts are just dimensions. We beg to differ, with a desk that has adjustable height, enough space to conceal ALL of the wires that could possibly snake around your computer, and built in storage for all of your gadgetry. The desk even contains a little Square space for your goldfish cube to sit in!

Three 50-storey towers in Singapore make up the all new casino complex. Shopping centres, a hotel, and casinos for US gaming company Las Vegas Sands form the new development by architect Moshe Safdie. Above all, though, is the Sky Park, a 2 acre public space with landscaped gardens, jogging routes, and a swimming pool. The best bit is that this public space rests on top of the 3 towers: genius!

Should be opening their doors by 2009.
