What is Site Reputation?
Site Reputation is a numerical representation of the quality of traffic your Site receives. It is based on a number of statistical factors such as quantity of traffic, return rates, page per view rates, and unique visitors amongst several other factors.
How is it calculated?
Your Site's GSTC supplies our servers with statistical data, which is recorded and then plugged into an advanced algorithm. The algorithm calculates a number between 0 and 5, and sets it as your Site's reputation.
What is the significance of Reputation?
Your Site's reputation is used to determine how much Square advertisers will be charged to advertise on your site. The more traffic you receive to your site, the more advertisers' adverts are exposed, and so the more return you would expect. As a result, advertisers willing to place Squares on a popular site will pay larger sums, as opposed to cheaper prices on less popular sites.
Why is my Site's reputation low?
This could be due to a number of reasons:
- Make sure the GSTC is active and included on all of your Site pages.
- You do not receive many visitors to your site
- Poor quality Statistics (few uniques, bad page per view rates, poor traffic levels etc)
