GoSquared and Mac OS X

If you have a Mac, you can run LiveStats as if it's a native application, and place it in your dock just like Mail or iTunes.

To run LiveStats from your dock, simply download Fluid, a separate application that you can use to run any web site or application as if it were a native app on OS X.

Setting up LiveStats in Fluid

When you first launch Fluid, you'll be greeted with a screen that looks like the one shown directly below.

In the first field marked "URL", enter the URL that you normally type into your browser to access LiveStats for your Site. In the "Name" field you can enter anything you like - this will be the name of your application that will show up in the dock and the Finder of Mac OS X.

Setting up LiveStats in Fluid

The URL for LiveStats consists of "http://www.gosquared.com/livestats/" followed by your website's ID and then a "/" (forward slash). Your Site ID is the 3-4 digit number that follows "/livestats/" in the URL you visit when viewing LiveStats in a browser. If you have LiveStats open in a browser on your computer, simply copy and paste the URL into this Fluid window.

Fluid Preferences - URL allowances

Once set up, GoSquared will feel like a native application running on Mac OS X. You can even keep it in your dock and use Growl to be notified every time a new visitor comes online.
