{"id":5269,"date":"2014-11-25T15:33:36","date_gmt":"2014-11-25T15:33:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gosquared.com\/blog\/?p=5269"},"modified":"2019-11-28T12:00:22","modified_gmt":"2019-11-28T12:00:22","slug":"better-onboarding-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gosquared.com\/blog\/better-onboarding-process","title":{"rendered":"A better onboarding process"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/static.gosquared.com\/images\/liquidicity\/14_11_20_onboarding_01.png\" alt=\"New GoSquared analytics onboarding process\"\/><\/p>\n<p>We just pushed a big update to one of the most important parts of the GoSquared product \u2013 the onboarding process.<\/p>\n<p>They say first impressions are often the ones that last \u2013 that&#8217;s why we sweat the details when it comes to guiding our users through the setup process as soon as they hit the &#8220;Sign up&#8221; button on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gosquared.com\/join\/\" title=\"Sign up for a free trial of GoSquared\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">join page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>What&#8217;s changed?<\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;ve made a lot of changes under the hood, but here are the key aspects that you&#8217;ll notice as a new user:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clearer calls to action on each step \u2013 so it&#8217;s harder to get lost.<\/li>\n<li>Easy access to help and support on every screen in the setup process.<\/li>\n<li>Better integration check \u2013 so we&#8217;ll be more accurate at telling you whether your tracking code is integrated.<\/li>\n<li>Less confusing &#8220;setup complete&#8221; step\u00a0\u2013\u00a0fewer false positives.<\/li>\n<li>Updated copy and help text throughout.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Our number one support request<\/h2>\n<p>The number one topic we&#8217;re asked about via customer support every day here at GoSquared is &#8220;how do I get set up?&#8221;\u00a0From confusion with the tracking code, to challenges with tag managers, to confusion about whether you can insert JavaScript on a Facebook page (you can&#8217;t) \u2013 we spend more time helping customers get integrated than we do on any other area of the product. That&#8217;s why we&#8217;re always looking to make setup and onboarding easier, slicker, and better.<\/p>\n<p>The new onboarding flow introduces a simple button in the bottom right of every screen \u2013 it&#8217;s there no matter which screen you&#8217;re on. This button brings up a very simple modal window with some handy links that were previously hard to find. As well as a few handy links, there&#8217;s a text field that gives you a direct line to email the GoSquared team \u2013 so you can get a real person helping you out in your time of need.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/static.gosquared.com\/images\/liquidicity\/14_11_20_onboarding_04.png\" alt=\"New GoSquared analytics onboarding process \u2013\u00a0checking install\"\/><\/p>\n<h2>Beautiful and useful<\/h2>\n<p>A lot of analytics tools have very functional signup flows. A lot of tools give you a lot of options in the signup process. <\/p>\n<p>GoSquared is not like other tools. <\/p>\n<p>We try really hard to make GoSquared an incredibly easy-to-use service \u2013 one that is truly beautiful\u00a0\u2013 while not compromising on features and usefulness. We automatically detect your timezone behind the scenes. We don&#8217;t ask you to pick a timezone from a long, ugly, confusing dropdown list of countries and cities and timezone codes.<\/p>\n<p>Even with our accurate auto-detection, we still allow you to change your location with ease if you&#8217;d rather set a different timezone, so we still show you what timezone you&#8217;re set to on the last step.
