{"id":8731,"date":"2021-12-22T10:03:25","date_gmt":"2021-12-22T10:03:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gosquared.com\/blog\/?p=8731"},"modified":"2021-12-22T10:03:28","modified_gmt":"2021-12-22T10:03:28","slug":"new-terminology-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gosquared.com\/blog\/new-terminology-2021","title":{"rendered":"New terminology throughout the GoSquared platform"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.gosquared.com\/images\/liquidicity\/21_12_20_newterminology\/new-names-00@2x.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For anyone signing in to GoSquared recently, you may notice some changes in the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve made a series of updates to the naming of different areas in GoSquared to be clearer and more consistent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We know everyone can have a different reaction to changes like this, so thought it best to share what we\u2019ve changed and why. We\u2019d love to hear any feedback you have so we can keep making GoSquared better!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s changed?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The names for some of the key areas of the platform, and the terminology for features within each area have been updated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Automation \u2192 Engage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.gosquared.com\/images\/liquidicity\/21_12_20_newterminology\/new-names-01@2x.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We have long felt that \u201cAutomation\u201d does not convey the range of use customers have for this area of the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the word \u201cautomation\u201d could be quite misleading \u2014&nbsp;while there are many forms of automation in GoSquared, there are also features such as Broadcasts that have been misleading to place under this term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re introducing the \u201cEngage\u201d name to ensure this hugely powerful, valuable area of GoSquared is more inviting, and less intimidating than ever before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have so many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gosquared.com\/customer-engagement\/\">exciting things planned for Engage<\/a>, and we can\u2019t wait to share more with you in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">People \u2192 Contacts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.gosquared.com\/images\/liquidicity\/21_12_20_newterminology\/new-names-03@2x.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gosquared.com\/blog\/introducing-people-analytics\">introducing \u201cPeople Analytics\u201d<\/a> many years ago, we have frequently evolved this area of the platform to find the best way to describe it to customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to these changes over the years, we have picked up some inconsistencies throughout the platform \u2014&nbsp;at times referring to &#8220;People CRM&#8221;, &#8220;People Analytics&#8221;, &#8220;People&#8221;, and &#8220;Customer Data Hub&#8221; within the product and our documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re introducing &#8220;Contacts&#8221; as a friendlier term, and one that we believe will encourage many more GoSquared customers to delve into this is incredible valuable area of the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contacts is the area in GoSquared where everyone in your audience, user base, and customer base lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re also renaming \u201cprofiles\u201d in GoSquared to \u201ccontacts\u201d. &#8220;Profile&#8221; has never sounded very human \u2014 it sounds like a term that refers to data, rather than humans. We also felt this change would align more closely with what customers expect coming from other CRMs and marketing tools in the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you haven\u2019t yet explored Contacts, we highly encourage you to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gosquared.com\/customer-data-hub\/\">give it a look<\/a> \u2014&nbsp;you may be surprised with what you find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Live Chat \u2192 Inbox<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.gosquared.com\/images\/liquidicity\/21_12_20_newterminology\/new-names-02@2x.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re also taking this opportunity to introduce \u201cInbox\u201d into the sidebar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a long time, GoSquared Inbox has enabled you to send and receive messages sent via live chat and email and we felt it was time to update this terminology for many reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We already offer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gosquared.com\/apps\/\">iOS and Android apps called Inbox<\/a>, and this change ensures we are consistent in our naming across platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inbox is the centralised area of GoSquared where customer messages come&nbsp;<em>in<\/em>, while a good way to think of Engage is that it\u2019s where messages go&nbsp;<em>out<\/em>&nbsp;from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enjoy using GoSquared with more confidence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We hope you like these changes, and we look forward to bringing you many more in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re always keen to gather your feedback, so if you have any feedback on these changes, or any other aspects of GoSquared, don\u2019t hesitate to let us know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the best from the team here, and stay well this holiday season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An outline and explanation of the terminology changes we&#8217;ve rolled out across the GoSquared platform.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":8733,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1586],"tags":[1612,1591,466,563,1125,1613,1101],"class_list":["post-8731","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-gosquared-updates","tag-customer-engagement","tag-gosquared-update","tag-inbox","tag-live-chat","tag-people-analytics","tag-platform","tag-product-management"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v18.6 (Yoast SEO v19.0) -
