Importing existing data from Intercom into GoSquared
Importing your existing data into GoSquared is easy. You can do it in your Project Settings, with the click of a button. In order to access your Intercom data, you’ll need to provide your Personal Access Token from Intercom.
How to create a Personal Access Token
To get your Personal Access Token, you’ll need to create one in the Intercom Developer Hub (Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a developer to do this!).
Log into your account in the Intercom Developer Hub
Click on the ‘New App’ button.
Give your app a name, select a workspace to add it to (this is the workspace you want to import data from), choose the Internal integration option, and then click on Create app.
You’ll be taken to your apps configuration page. Here you’ll find your Personal Access Token that you can use to import your Intercom data.
Copy and paste this and head to your Project Settings in GoSquared and choose Intercom in your integrations list.
Click ‘Connect to Intercom’
Paste your Personal Access Token in the ‘Intercom Token’ field’
Select if you would like to import contacts from Intercom with their associated user events.
Select if you would like to import historical conversations for your contacts from Intercom.
Click ‘Start Import’.
That’s all you need to do. Your data will then start to import into GoSquared’s customer data hub!
