Using our Segment integration you can easily add GoSquared tracking to your Magento website without writing any code!
Note: The Ecommerce dashboard is now only included with our Enterprise Plans. Current Ecommerce customers can continue to use their dashboards with their existing plans. However new customers should contact email@example.com to learn more about our enterprise pricing options.
What is Magento?
Magento is a popular ecommerce platform.
What is Segment?
Segment is a customer data hub for easily managing multiple services running on your website. Its a great way to glue different services together and is currently our most reliable method for Magento tracking.
Do I need to pay extra to use Segment?
Setting up Magento Tracking
By following these steps you shouldn't need any extra code to get GoSquared tracking working on your site:
If you haven't already, sign up for a free Segment account. Follow their instructions to create a new Segment project for your store (we've called ours 'my-magento-store' in this example).
- Next go to your Magento Admin and navigate to System > Magento Connect > Magento Connect Manager.
Re-enter your login credentials.
Under the Install New Extensions section, paste this key:
Click the Install button, and the plugin should install automatically.
Go back to your main Magento Admin, and navigate to System > Configuration.
Choose the General > Analytics section from the sidebar.
Expand the Segment section of the page, and paste in your project’s Write Key and click Save Config.
Your Write Key can be found by clicking on 'Project Keys' in the sidebar of your Segment project.
Segment is now installed on your Magento website. Next we need to get Segment talking to GoSquared.
Log into your GoSquared account and click 'Install Segment'
If prompted, login to your Segment account. Then select your 'my-magento-store' project from the dropdown menu and click 'Send Data'.
GoSquared will verify your data is tracking (try refreshing after a few minutes if it doesn't work).
That's it, you're done! No more coding or tweaking required!
