Cargo Analytics
Last updated: 4th February, 2026
You can add GoSquared to your Cargo site to see real-time and historical analytics.
Cargo makes it easy to add analytics to your site, but you don’t need to use Google Analytics.
If you want to a dramatically more intuitive, analytics tool, and one that is designed for designers, (chances are you do if you’re using Cargo) then you’ll love GoSquared.
How to add GoSquared analytics to your Cargo site
To add GoSquared to your Cargo site, sign in to your GoSquared account and get your tracking code, then paste it into Cargo’s HTML settings.
- In GoSquared, go to Settings → Current Project → General. Your JavaScript Snippet (tracking code) is shown there. You can also use the Install Analytics page.
- Copy the entire tracking code.
- In Cargo, open Site Settings and click the </> icon at the bottom, then open the HTML tab.
- Paste your GoSquared tracking code into the HTML section and save. If your site has multiple pages, this will track all of them. The code will not work when pasted into individual pages.
- Open your site in a new tab and refresh a few times to trigger your first pageview, then run the Installation checker to confirm GoSquared is receiving data.
GoSquared updates in real time, so you should see data shortly after the code is live. If you don’t see activity, double-check that the code is in your Cargo Site Settings (HTML tab) and that your changes are saved and published.
What is Cargo?
Cargo is a website builder for creating and publishing sites with a focus on design and layout. The same place where you’d add other tracking or embed code (such as Google Analytics) is where you add your GoSquared snippet.
