A new addition to Trends; Organisation/ISP widgets! 🏢
Previously, the GoSquared Organisation/ISP widget was limited to our Now dashboard.
But with our latest release, the widget is now accessible in GoSquared Trends - enabling you to view this data over any given time-period!
Many large corporations use IP address blocks which are registered to their company. When someone from one of these IP addresses visits a site tracking with GoSquared we detect and show in the Organisations widget where they have visited from.
This widget will also give visibility into traffic from automated sources such as Microsoft Azure, which can be discounted from your Analytics metrics.
Improved Visibility of Trends Icons

Switching from live chat to email for GoSquared customer Support
What is Changing?
As Customer Success Lead at GoSquared, I'm always looking for ways to improve the level of Support we offer our customers.
After conducting a review earlier in this quarter, we've come to the conclusion that we can offer a better Support experience to our clients via email, rather than the current live chat Support.
Why are we migrating to email Support?
With a dedicated email Support channel, it will be easier for you to track your Support requests; all tied together in separate email threads. This will make it much simpler for you to find and review previous Support questions, rather than our current, continuous live chat history thread.
Email Support will also ensure your Support threads are kept together in one channel, rather than having messages split across multiple in-app and email conversations.
This will give you a more reliable paper-trail of your Support request and responses, if you need to refer back at a later date.
Through this change, we hope to bring a better, more efficient Support experience to our clients. Ensuring we resolve your questions faster, and help you get back to doing what you love - growing your business with our platform!
FAQ
Will my Support requests still be handled by humans?
Yes! Your Support requests will continue to be managed by the same familiar faces you know from our live chat.
What does this mean for GoSquared Live Chat?
We are not making any changes to our existing Live Chat product, which remains available for our clients to deploy on their GoSquared sites.
Will it take longer to answer my Support queries?
No! Not only will we retain the same expectations for getting back to you promptly, resolving your issues, and updating you throughout the process - but we hope with the new, streamlined process it should be faster for us to resolve your questions.
Keeping Support requests in specific email threads means our Support team won't also be jumping across different in-app and email threads for the info we need to process your request. A more efficient process on our side should result in faster responses for you!
What should I do if my issue is very urgent?
As before, if you are experiencing an issue which is causing direct disruption to your usage of the platform, you can mention the urgency within your message, and our team will look into it as priority.
Remind me your Support Office Hours?
Our Support Office Hours will remain 09.00-18.00 UK time.
Should I still use live chat or email Support for my own site?
There's no one-size fits all answer, as it will depend a lot on your audience, product-offering, and existing Tech Stack. But the article here presents a balanced review of the pros & cons of both options.

Introducing Intelligent Unsubscribe Logic 🤖
To counter an increase in automated Unsubscribe activity, our Product team have introduced conditional double-click Unsubscribe logic to EcoSend email campaigns 💪
Respecting users' deliberate choices to unsubscribe from email communications is a core part of EcoSend's service as an email platform.
🤖 We have however, recently seen an uptick in automated unsubscribe events. These are typically triggered by automated email-link crawlers, resulting in non-deliberate unsubscribe actions.
In order to prevent users from being unintentionally unsubscribed from your email campaigns, we are delighted to introduce conditional double-click unsubscribes.
This means if an EcoSend email is received, and the unsubscribe link is immediately 'clicked' by an email crawler immediately after receipt, a confirmation page will be generated requiring a second click in order to confirm the unsubscribe.
This way, we ensure automated actions do not result in unsubscribes, but intentional unsubscribes remain respected 🙌
If an EcoSend email is received, and the unsubscribe link clicked after a reasonable delay, our usual one-click unsubscribe action will be triggered.
This ensures that deliberate user requests to unsubscribe are immediately actioned, preventing user frustration and unnecessary friction, which can otherwise lead to users filing spam complaints.

Simply craft your message and select your audience as you normally would when creating a Broadcast. Then, instead of hitting "Send", you'll see a new button: "Schedule".
By choosing "Schedule" you can send your Broadcast at a specific time and day in the future.
EcoSend will automatically update your audience so any last-minute additions or unsubscribes will be factored in and your message will send in the background, seamlessly.

Our Product Team are delighted to release two new features today. Both focused on making it easy to recreate your email campaigns, time after time.

Or perhaps a set layout for particular sections of your newsletter?
With our latest updates; Image Library and Saved Blocks, you can now keep your EcoSend Email composer stocked up with your go-to images and layouts.
This makes it easy to recreate your campaigns or newsletters, week in week out.
Image Library 📸
You can now save any images you use on a regular basis buy clicking the 'Uploads' option from the right-hand sidebar of your Email Composer.
Simply Upload or drag & drop your images into the box to have them saved and available for you anytime you open the message composer, ready for your next email campaigns!
Saved Blocks 🏗️
If you use a regular layout for your email messages, create a saved 'Block' to use and transpose across future email campaigns.
Once you have designed your block, which could be a group of text, images, headings, social icons, or even a whole email layout - simply click the Save icon at the bottom right-hand corner of the block to add it to your set list under 'Blocks'.
Save your Block and give it a title, so you can refer back to it later on.
You can then access the Block for any future email campaigns, and simply drag & drop the block into your composer to edit & send in no-time!

👀 Filter by CSV Import - live today!
We are pleased to announce the new ability to filter all users uploaded via CSV in EcoSend Contacts 🎉
It has always been quick & easy to import your contacts into EcoSend, via our CSV file importer.
However, we received feedback that users would like to be able to create a filter to find which users have been imported, in order to build out Smart Groups.
And so from today, head to EcoSend Contacts and select the Lead Source Type filter.
From the dropdown, you can now select CSV Import to pull all users who were first created in your Contacts area via the EcoSend Importer tool 🙌
Once you've created the filter, simply save the Smart Group to add it to your Contacts sidebar.

Introducing Message Behaviour Segmentation 🔍
We’re excited to announce a powerful new feature for the EcoSend email marketing platform: the ability for customers to segment their audience based on whether contacts have opened or clicked their emails.
📨 With this new functionality, customers are able to target their email campaigns more effectively than ever before. By segmenting your audience based on message behaviour, you can create even more personalised campaigns that build on the activity of previously sent messages, each tailored to the specific needs and interests of each group.
🎯 For example, you can create a campaign that targets subscribers who opened your last promotion but have not clicked on any links. This group may need a little more encouragement to take action, so you can send them an email with a special offer to encourage them to take the next step.
🖱️ Or, create a campaign that targets subscribers who have clicked on a link in your latest newsletter. This group has already shown an interest in a particular topic, so why not send them more information on that topic or related products and services?
🚀 To get started with message behaviour segmentation, simply sign in to your EcoSend account and navigate to the "Contacts" area. From there, you can create new segments based on message behaviour and add them to your campaigns.
We believe that message behaviour segmentation, combined with EcoSend’s industry-leading property and event-based segmentation, will be a game-changer for email Marketers.

Update to Analytics Bot Detection: Semrush & Bytespider 🤖
GoSquared Analytics has implemented additional blocking measures against traffic pollution from two new bot sources.
Our Product Team are pleased to have implemented measures to prevent two new bot sources from Semrush and Bytespider.
Our clients had notified us of these sources polluting their Analytics traffic sites, and so our team have made adjustments to remove the two new bot sources automatically from Analytics tracking in GoSquared's dashboards.
This will ensure your site-tracking Analytics remains as accurate as possible, and automatically filters out any activity on your site from Semrush bot and Bytespider.

With GoSquared, we've always wanted our clients to use our platform to gain detailed insights into exactly how users are engaging with your product or service 🔎
That's why we strongly encourage clients to add their own custom Events into Contacts in order to track all their platform's key features. This ensures accurate monitoring of feature activation levels.
Prior to this update however, users could only monitor activation of Events within a time-period anchored to the current date.
This worked great, for example, to track the number of sign_in events triggered in the past 30 days.
But what if you wanted to compare sign_in events between two months? Or between this quarter and last quarter? 🤔

From today you can now track your custom Events within any given time-period, and unlock deeper insights into your user behaviour 🎉

Advanced URL Filtering is now live! 🔍
A Product Team have shipped a major update to URL Filtering - custom time periods! 🎉
What has changed?
Prior to this update, users could deploy our 'Viewed URL' filter in GoSquared Contacts to track which visitors had hit a defined URL within a given time-period.
✋ This was limited however, as the search-period was always anchored to the current-time.
For example, at the end of the month you could search all users who had hit a particular URL 'during the last 30 days.'
But what if you wanted to compare that to the users who had hit the same URL the month before? 😮💨
With our latest update, you can do just that ✅
Our 'Viewed URL' filter now offers the ability to select by custom time-periods, such as last quarter, last year, or the defined dates of your choice.
Use-cases for Advanced URL Filtering include:
✍️ Comparing users who hit a registration page last month to the month prior. 📊 Quarterly reporting on users who activate a specific feature. 🚀 Segmenting users who visited an Event page last year, and sending a Broadcast to announce the Event's return this year.

Double Opt-in for GoSquared Forms is now live! 🔐
Today we're delighted to announce a significant new update to GoSquared Forms - the option to add double opt-in! 🎊
What is Double Opt-in?
🎓 Double opt-in is an important security measure to ensure only legitimate submissions pass through your GoSquared Forms and into your Contacts.
✋ This feature requires users to verify their submission first via email, before their submission is created as a profile in GoSquared.
✨ A standard feature across lead-capture tools, double opt-in helps block illegitimate submissions from entering your GoSquared Contacts. This ensures your Form's Smart Groups are clean, tidy, and filled with valid submissions.
📤 If you have any Email Automations attached to your Form submissions, keeping a clean list of legitimate emails is vital for maintaining good email reputation.

Reliable, resilient, real-time… our latest update to GoSquared Forms! 🪄
We've just shipped a major update to the way Forms works under the hood to make it more reliable, easier to work with, and more resilient.
Before, if you needed to make any changes to a GoSquared Form you would need to recopy & paste the new code into your site.
But from today, the embeddable code snippet created when you build a Form will be a new, dynamic snippet - so no need to update your site's code again! 🎉
Simply save the updates to your Form in GoSquared, and watch your Form magically update in real-time on your site 🧙
Released in this latest version:
✅ Live Updates Before today, if you wanted to make changes to a Form (such as adding a new input), you needed to make the edits and then copy-paste the updated Form snippet onto your site. The new-format Forms snippet is dynamic so now you just need to press 'Save and Publish', and voilà! The Form embedded on your site will update to reflect your latest changes
✅ More Reliable Our old snippet could sometimes interfere with the existing styles on your page. The new snippet has better isolation of the Form itself from the page it's embedded in, so you're much less likely to see any strange styling bugs.
✅ More Resilient The new-format Forms snippet makes Forms more resilient for your users if they have connectivity issues, if they have JavaScript disabled in their browser, or many other issues we've seen with the previous version.

👥 Looking to bring your contacts into GoSquared from MailChimp? 🔖 Want to make sure all your MailChimp tags come with them? ✅ Then this update is for you!
With our newly updated MailChimp importer, you can now replicate and improve your campaigns in just minutes 🎉
Now when you import your contacts, GoSquared will map all your existing fields and tags onto custom properties across your users' profiles.
GoSquared will also track which MailChimp Audience your profiles came from, for immediate, fast, and easy segmentation within your Contacts section.
Our new importer will also bring along your users' subscriber status as a 'Boolean', so you can quickly filter out any unsubscribed users from your GoSquared communications.

Improvement to 'Add Contact' function
We've shipped a quick update today to our 'Add Contact' feature 👥
Previously, if you were to add a profile which already exists in your Contacts section, you would trigger a generic error message.
With today's update, GoSquared will recognise an existing user and display a message detailing that the profile you are attempting to add already exists in your user-base 🙌

Our Product Team are delighted to announce a significant upgrade to our HTML Editor; now fully integrated into the GoSquared platform as Visual Editor! 🎉
Our previous update to our HTML builder allowed you to create HTML messages without code, via drag & drop. However, we received feedback that this format was difficult for users to save a draft for returning to at a later date, or for passing over to colleagues to edit.
With the new integration of Visual HTML Editor, you can easily save drafts to come back to later on, or for your colleagues to edit from their own login.
We hope this will make it even easier for users to craft aesthetic and engaging HTML emails. And with our latest update to 'Subscribe all' Smart Groups, there has never been a better time to set-up a new Automation or Broadcast 🙌
PS. We've also added a Variable drop-down into the Subject line field, to make it easy to personalise your messaging and engage with your users.

Add existing Smart Group members to Sequences 📤
👥 One of the top challenges we've seen for customers using our Sequences has been sending a sequence to an existing group of people.
Sequences are a powerful way to send a series of messages (via email or in-app message) to your contacts, triggered by events and behaviours they exhibit.
Great use-cases include:
The challenge in GoSquared has been that if you already have a group of people you want to send a Sequence to, you'd have to jump through hoops to send your Sequence to the existing group 😬.
We've heard from customers sending multiple Broadcasts one after the other, and trying all sorts of different workarounds to simply send a Sequence to an existing group of people.
Today, we're thrilled to be addressing these challenges, to give you an intuitive way to set up a Sequence that will both send automatically to your contacts and, optionally, send to an existing group of people you've already selected.
Just hit "Subscribe existing Smart Group members to this Sequence" when choosing the audience for your Sequence.
When you hit "Save and Publish" your Sequence will immediately start sending to the existing contacts who meet the segmentation criteria defined in your Smart Group, as well as send to any future contacts who start matching that criteria in the future.
We think this is going to make a big difference to the workflows of our customers who use Sequences every day to grow their business.

🎄 GoSquared Plants 150 Trees
At this time of year we usually thank you, our client, for the year past by sending a Christmas e-card.
This year, in line with what we've been learning around sustainability, we decided instead to invest in planting 150 Trees in the GoSquared Forest! 🙌
This takes us up to over 2,000 trees planted in the forest so far and over two hectares reforested. We hope this number will continue to 'grow' exponentially in 2023!

But more importantly... 500,000kgs is the total amount of C02 our latest tree-planting initiative will offset every year 🎉
We’re delighted to partner with Tree-Nation for their #TrickorTrees campaign and plant a whopping 625 Zambezi Almond Trees in the Cocoa AgroForestry project in Cameroon.
This is the biggest tree-plant to-date at GoSquared, and we’re delighted to bring our Forest’s total up to 1.67 hectares reforested in our projects across the globe 🌍
