Ever since we first heard about the Leap Motion Controller we’ve been dying to get our hands on one and see what we can do. Well today that day finally came.

Last week, our good friends at Panic introduced a beautiful new iOS app called Status Board.

Staus Board is probably the most beautiful way to display the stats and data that matter most to you on your iPad or a big screen. By default, Panic give you a bunch of beautiful widgets and visualisations. But we couldn’t bear the thought of seeing all these Status Boards going out into the world without any GoSquared data in them whatsoever.

That’s why we’re proud to announce GoSquared integration with Panic Status Board starting today.

We’re rather proud to release our latest Labs project – Globe.

On Friday 25th of January, we put on a metrics focused event with our friends at Geckoboard called Data Driven London.

I (James) gave a talk about how startups can get more data driven, and we focused around a few of the metrics we track here at GoSquared, and others that fit into the Pirate Metrics way of thinking.

2012 was another blockbuster year for the world of technology, Microsoft released their renewed tablet effort, Apple unleashed the iPad mini, Facebook snapped up Instagram for a cool $1 billion and the proliferation of social media and digital TV services showed us a new way of watching the Olympic games. Here at GoSquared we had an equally exciting and explosive year, we already shared many of these great events and achievements with many of you but we want to recap them all over again—they were just that good!

Visitors are central to our understanding of the real-time web web. The individual dots on the map are the source of all the data for our Dashboard but it’s equally as important to focus on the visitors themselves, they are of course your potential future customers or loyal readers.

With the new Visitors widget in Dashboard, we stripped the whole idea back to basics and brought in all we’ve learnt from 8 months of feedback on Dashboard. The Visitors widget is completely redesigned and gives more detail about visitors in an easier to use, simpler interface. At a glance it’s possible to see who’s on your site right now, where they came from and what page they’re on. The new page depth indicator makes it easier to find visitors who are more deeply engaged in your site.
