Xerox 2.0

The "copier" company.
For such a major brand, I am surprised the logo design is so short term, so "web 2.0".
It works today, but will I be saying that in 5 years?

I just don't get the ball. Remove that, use the new font to recreate the digital/mosaic X logo (which was instantly recognizable) and it's not bad, but the ball X is balls.
Almost as bad as the UPS redesign.

What the hell?
Xerox's blocky "X" logo was one of the most recognizable brands in the world. EVERYONE knows who Xerox is...
This new logo? Looks like some crappy social site.. nobody will recognize it, ever. Even if it's still in use 5 years from now, people will see that and say:
"...whose logo is that? It looks familiar... uhhh.... hmmmmm."
"Xerox?"
"Oh yeah! That's right!"
I don't know about Xerox - but I wouldn't trade a globally recognized logo for some P.O.S. like this.
